Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, a Grade-21 officer of Pakistan Police Group, on Wednesday 4th March 2020 assumed charge as Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP).
Earlier he was appointed IG Sindh Police.
He is 18th IG of NHMP.
On his arrival at Central Police Office NHMP, he was presented guard of honour by a contingent of Motorway Police. Later, during a meeting with the senior officers, he expressed the determination to further strengthen the institution and serve the people with a renewed pledge.

Mushtaq Ahmad Mehar has been appointed new IG of Sindh.
The federal cabinet has accorded approval to appointing Mushtaq Ahmed Mehar – one of the three names put forward by the Sindh government – as the new provincial inspector general of police. The other two names were Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Dr Kamran Fazal.
According to the sources, through a circular, the federal cabinet notified the appointment of Railways IG Mehar – a Grade 22 officer – as the new Sindh IG.
Mehar is on the eleventh position on the Grade 22’s seniority list and is set to retire on March 3, 2025.
Sources said following Mehar’s appointment, outgoing Sindh IG Kaleem Imam is likely to report to the Establishment Division.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday confirmed the appointment of Khalid Javed as the new Attorney General for Pakistan.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Law Ministry has been directed to move a summary for his appointment today.
His appointment comes a day after Anwar Mansoor Khan submitted his resignation from the post for levelling allegations against some members of the Supreme Court bench hearing petitions challenging the filing of presidential reference against Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
