Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday visited a utility store in Islamabad’s G-9 sector where he launched a Rs7 billion package meant to provide relief to the poor through the Utility Stores Corporation (USC).
The package, which was approved by the premier earlier, includes lowering the prices of essential edible items, including flour, cooking oil, rice and pulses by offering subsidies.

Named after Zainab Ameen, the legislation was one of six bills approved by the Lower House on Friday. Pakistan’s National Assembly on Friday passed the Zainab Alert, Response and Recovery Bill, 2019, which seeks to implement a simplified mechanism for reporting and recovering missing children.

Terrorists attacks in Pakistan were down by 13 per cent in 2019, compared to the previous year, according to new report.
Titled, ‘Pakistan Security Report 2019’, the report notes that not only had terror attacks plummeted across the country last year, but the number of people killed in terrorism incidents had also decreased by 40 per cent.
In 2019, a total of 229 terrorist attacks were reported, including four suicide bombings, killing 164 civilians and 163 law and security forces officials, amongst others.
