On 26 December 1994, Parveen’s car collided with a bus while she was on her way to work in Islamabad. The accident resulted in her death, a great loss to the Urdu poetry world. The road on which the accident took place is named after her as Parveen Shakir Road.

The construction of the minar commenced on March 23, 1960 when the foundation stone was laid down on the site where the historic resolution was passed by All-India Muslim League. However, it took eight years to construct the Minaret of Pakistan as it was completed on October 31, 1968.

The Pakistan National Movement was founded in 1933 by Choudhry Rahmat Ali who is also credited with creating the name “Pakistan”, for a separate Muslim homeland in South Asia. After publishing the declaration Now or Never, he felt the need of putting up a co-operative effort to publicize and promote his ideas.
The first Sindhi film produced was Ekta in 1940 directed by Homi Wadia while the first Sindhi film produced in Pakistan was Umar Marvi in 1956 directed by Shaikh Hassan. The first blockbuster Sindhi film released was Abana released in 1958.
The Battle took place on 17 February 1843 at Miani, Sindh, in what is now Pakistan. This battle eventually led to the capture of parts of Sindh region, first territorial possession by British East India company in what is the modern-day country of Pakistan.
